She came to our home along with eight other litte girls on the last day of Navaratri. Navaratri is a nine day Hindu festival that’s dedicated to the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga.

We invite nine little girls and shower them with gifts and goodies. The little ones are worshipped or praised as the embodiment of the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga: Sailaputri, Brahmacharini, Andraghanta, Kusamanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalarati, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.
And I always try to do this the right way as I have seen my mother do it since my childhood.
It’s another way of showing gratitude to the Goddess.

I agree with you and I also believe in ‘each one to their own’. To believe in something is also a kind of belief system. One should find a way to eventually connect inwards, where the real God is.

It’s very important to educate ourselves and nears , dears why we celebrate festivals ,rituals ,so that the spirit of occasion doesn’t become of superstitious practice and we can explain to the curious minds why we do this instead of yelling out of ignorance ” just do as we say as other wise the heavens will fall “
